In 2015. With PSA's omnitool, Seb. Loeb and Peoplehitter Peterhansel, as main drivers.
Such a move, reported in the French newspaper L'Equipe, wouldn't be without precedent: Peugeot returned to Pikes Peak this summer precisely 25 years after Ari Vatanen's famous victory in 1988.
Dakar is one of Peugeot's biggest success stories, with the French team having won the event four times consecutively between 1987 and 1990, first with the 205T16 and then with the 405T16.
A Peugeot spokesperson confirmed: "That's one of the possible paths we are working on at the moment, just like when we thought of doing Pikes Peak."

In other words Loeb to win Dakar in 2015.

Rumors are saying that it will be a 2wd buggy. I don't know that they will bring a can of whoopass like they did at Pike's Peak though. Pike's Peak basically has no rules. If you bring the biggest hammer, you win. The Dakar has very strict rules and those that are already playing have have had a chance to fine tune their rides to those rules.

Or something based on this.
Also, they will be a French team, with French drivers. The governing body of the Dakar rally is French. Not sure they will be in a too big disadvantage.

I'm sure being French will help when dealing with the ASO. I'm just saying teams generally don't fare well on their first attempt at Dakar. It takes time to dial in exactly what works and experience matters. That said, I'd put money on Peterhansel over Loeb. PH has shown he can be fast (enough) and he doesn't make any mistakes - none.

Loeb isn't really known for mistakes. More known for being fast enough and not making any mistakes for nine straight WRC titles. Then breaking the Pikes Peak record by what, 90 seconds his first time out?

I find it hilarious that, thanks largely to Robby Gordon, American-style 2WD cars seem to be the wave of the future for Dakar
